Title: Birding from the deck, part 2 , Tiny Township

Hey!, this morning just after 7 am  two Pileated woodpeckers flew across our yard and landed on the dead/dying pine tree beside our driveway. They didn't stick around for very long. Wife and dog were on the deck and I was sitting at the entrance our carport/garage.
No time to grab le camera.   :(

Two? Pileated woodpeckers? How lucky! I got two Northern Flickers, a downy, and a screaming blue jay, still can't compete.

That's quite the count....I have seen a pileated...ONCE....have heard them a few times...but two...wow....are you sure they were pileated and not ivory billed b/c I have been confused a few times thinking I was looking at a pileated and it turned out to be an ivory billed...those things are all over the place here....

Are you sure you saw Ivory-billed woodpeckers and not Imperial woodpeckers? Perhaps it was riding north on the back of a Baluchitherium. My guess is a 4.5 meter-high specimen on a mission. A few have reported hearing its mating call. It's only a matter of time before Bigfoot wrangles one of them in order to cover more ground. If the Ivory-billed woodpeckers are all around then the Baluchitherium can't be far away. Keep your eyes peeled.
