Title: Winter Wren
Post by: Shortsighted on September 29, 2021, 12:07:26 PM
On more than one occasion I have had a Winter wren visit the backyard and in each instance the wren was first spotted just outside the sliding glass door on the stone walkway. I never expect the encounter and am elatedly shocked each time it happens. I have always considered the wren to be a secretive little bird, a bird not given to extravagant behavior, kind of like me. So, you can imagine my discomfort at witnessing this wren flail and gyrate on its rocky stage. We don’t condone that kind of flagrant disregard for decorum in these parts. Still, antics aside, I am glad it showed up and misbehaved as long as the neighbours didn't take offense.
