Title: Thrush ID
Post by: Shortsighted on September 29, 2021, 06:47:57 PM
I previously posted an awkward photo and an awkward request for assistance in what I hoped might be a Gray-cheeked thrush even though it possessed a noticeable eye ring, as would be present on a Hermit thrush, but not a feature of the GC variety. I was quickly notified by Professor Thouc that the photo was most likely a Hermit thrush.  Perhaps it had lost some colour due to stress or advance age … purely a fanciful supposition. No further reprimand was given even though I admit to skipping the Professor’s class on comparative thrush identification. It won’t happen again, I assure you. With some trepidation I offer another photo, barely making the grade, but significant for me because it might be a Wood thrush. If I’m wrong again does that mean that I fail the course?

Thanks for the confirmation. Some day I will get a good shot of a Wood Thrush. I keeping telling myself that.
