Two flew into my window when I was pretending/trying to read.

Maybe the nut already went down the hatch. I'm still waiting for a RB nuthatch to become a regular visitor. So far, even WB nuthatches stay away. No House finches have appeared. As for Purple finches, well let's just say that I'm not holding my breath. Things will be very quiet from now on.

That would certainly change when you have a resident Nut, they are so chatty! That one was corresponding with the other from a distance the whole time, maybe gossiping about me.
