Title: Raptors
Post by: Ally on December 12, 2021, 11:26:33 AM
I hope someone reported him earlier than Wednesday, because I saw it landing on the building and took some blurry photos, and even asked other birders whether other hawks being reported because the face was really pale. I should have checked here on the forum. Anyway, the world knows, and about 30 birders were there.

They are all quite cooperative. Such a nice day to be out. Two RTHs were hovering. Wished to see the harriers or the falcons, but I can't have everything, right?

A very nice combo of raptors, particularly that juvenile Rough-legged Hawk - one doesn't usually get to see one this far south. I thought first time it was reported seen and photographed was on Friday, I had the chance to see it on Saturday. A very friendly raptor.

When I arrived I saw a group of people along the paved circuit road and was wondering what were they looking at. And then I saw the hawk on the ground and it took off before I was ready or had a chance to adjust the camera. It flew past the photogs, flying low. One flew over someone's shoulders.

Where was all this taking place? Would you need to kill me by telling me the secret? You'll have to find me first. I will hind under camo and foil your plans. You're not going to tell me, are you? I guess it doesn't really make any difference since I can't go anywhere anyway. At least you and Dinu cover the scene. Our two best agents in the field.

Downsview Park, my dear Master. And I can go pick you up if you want to go tomorrow morning.

I had a great day visiting downsview park today for the first time. I saw the owls, rough-legged & red-tailed hawk, coopers hawk, northern harrier and american kestral. Also saw northern shrike and redpolls for the first time!

Very nice! It's one of my favourite parks.
