Saw a bunch at a park near my house last night.  I thought they were long gone.

I was surprised as well

but then I remembered two years ago watching 4 types of swallows and waxwings in the mix feeding on insects over the pond behind my house

Mid June..

These waxwings  were sitting in a tree down the street launching themselves up to catch bugs then settling back down into the tree..

I found a waxwing nest today in one of my apple trees -- I have a small apple orchard...it was high up in the tree....the yellow tail bar helped with the id....
