The fox found the rat, caught it and carried it away, in front of me!

That is so cool! I never get to see foxes.

I wonder if he was thinking "mine, all mine"?! :D Red Fox are beautiful, haven't seen one for years!

I have seen red foxes many times all over Ontario especially in Toronto, but this was the first time that I actually had a camera ready and managed a few photos. ;D I was in Niagara Falls last week.
A few years ago, I was crossing the busy Queen's Park Crescent and saw an animal beside me. Initially I thought it was a stray dog, it was actually a red fox! It then disappeared behind the provincial legislature.

Is it just me or is their population on the upswing? (Don't get me wrong -- I love it!)...and I'm talking about the foxes not rats lol

He was probably thinking "This oughtta feed them for a couple of hours...I hope....."

It does seem there are more sightings, although I only saw it once this year.
Hope to see the babies one day.

Last year we had 2 dens on our property -- and they would have been roughly 400 m apart....they didn't interact but I didn't see any aggression....well....there were no bunnies around either so....sigh....I love seeing them....but I love the bunnies too....why can't they all just get along like they do in Disney.
