Post by: Charline on May 22, 2022, 11:38:40 AM
Yesterday just as a friend was saying she didn't see any hawks recently, this guy landed in front of me!.

It's likely one of the local youngsters born in 2019. I remember the bib pattern on the chest.

LOL, Ally, he barely allowed me to take a peek at his supper.

I am afraid he was going to kill me too.  ;)

I wouldn't fear a hawk attack like a shark attack but maybe avoid wearing a fur hat, not that you would anyway. A Davey Crockett style raccoon tail hat might really get some attention. What is the term used for entangled unkempt hair? Is it called squirrelly? If so, avoid that too. Very good shot and an excellent crop. I haven't seen a hawk in 6 weeks, or more. Having said that perhaps I should take a gander outside.

A Red-tailed with a red squirrel for lunch - how awesome. I haven't seen any hawks for weeks in my favorite hang out area in Toronto.

Red-tail and Cooper's usually have nests in my area. Not this year.

Earlier, a Cooper's was building a nest. I even have a photo of it inside the nest. But eventually it was not used.
