The second is a female kingfisher in Burlington.

My first sighting was far out in the lake while I was Whimbrel watching in Colonel Sam Smith Park in 2016. This time I made the trip to Hamilton a few weeks ago to see it despite its injuries. I hope it recovers and makes its way to its breeding area.

It was really sad to see it drifting on water, with eyes closed most of the time.

It was harassed by a cormorant, and then it tried to flap the wings. It couldn't spread the wings. I was worried that it could not catch fish. However, some experienced rescuers said that if it has survived for this long, it must have had food.

One animal rescue organization said that even if it is captured, it is likely that the injuries have healed incorrectly. In that case, it would have to be put down. It would be a shame.

Hope some help is on the way and there is a happy ending to the story.
