Title: Swans? Tiny Township, Balm Beach
Post by: Napper on June 14, 2022, 10:16:49 AM
Hey! This morning we were sitting in our customary spot on the deck enjoying our coffee when we heard an odd Honk, we looked up and caught a brief glimpse of at least Two Swans just above the trees. :o
An hour later I hear flapping sounds I look up and here are three Swans again heading East from G bay again just above the tree tops.
I dunno? I've read accounts of Trumpeters at Tiny Marsh. I didn't see any banding on the wings.
Humming bird persists visiting our only flowering bush by the fence.

If you use Facebook at all, look up a woman named "Kim Stevenson" -- her profile pic will have something to do with Trumpeters...she's involved with a Trumpeter Swan recovery project....let her know that you may have spotted unbanded TS....that's useful for them to know....she's very approachable...I send her pix to confirm all the time and she always responds.

Axeman!
Both encounters happened so fast there no time for a proper ID & No camera nearby.
 :)
conclusion: large White Swan like bird..
p.s. There is a small group at Tiny Marsh and at Wye Marsh.
p.s.s funny, I found a report (OFO) of three Sandhill Cranes at Tiny, Marsh in and around the time we Spotted 3 of them flying South over Balm Beach Rd. just West of Hwy 93 heading towards (Perkinsfield).

West not East correction
