Title: Fledging id challege
Post by: lovemypt on July 04, 2022, 09:22:16 AM
Here is a challenge for these bird experts in the slow days of summer..... What species is this??     I know what it is.... but would have never recognized it if the parents were not right by feeding it..... hint "it is a warbler"
Will post a shot of parent later
Note: I was only close to chick for a few seconds , then left spot ,  and shot with a 400m lens and pic enlarged

Where did you see that??? That's a fledgling Fiji Bush Warbler!!! I'd stake my reputation on that.

okay Ally...you were close as there was Pine warblers in same area, but this wee one was not that
Belongs to the parents of a couple proud "Prairie" Warblers

Cool fledgling shots - I would still be scratching my head to Id them had I not been told what they were.
