Title: I need an ID
Post by: Napper on August 15, 2022, 01:12:22 PM
Would someone be kind enough to help ID this bird.

I was shooting the elusive Hummingbird just prior to this.

Thanks in advance

Your bird is in considerable shadow and that tends to misinform colour, but in this case I think that yellow is definitely present. The heavy streaking and pale throat speaks of a juvenile Cape May warbler.

The Mango warbler has shifty eyes. It is now mostly seen eating from the papaya. The shifty eyes are a nervous tic acquired from the guilt associated with switching allegiance.
