Title: yellow-billed cuckoo, Mt Pleasant Cem
Post by: Pat Hodgson on May 29, 2006, 10:20:13 AM
I have heard a few calls today and yesterday, putting them all together they add up to a heard-only yellow-billed cuckoo.  (calls heard include cu-cu, cu-cu, and a clear but rather weak k-k-k-k-kidow-kidow-kidow).  I cannot get a visual as the calls are very infrequent, also the bird may be going over the cemetary wall into private gardens.

The location is Plot O of Mt Pleasant Cemetary.  Plot O is in the west half, about halfway between Yonge and Mt Pleasant, on the south side.

Also several singing blackpoll warbler this morning in this area.
Title: Seems Likely

Hi Pat,each of the last 2 years in early to mid-June I saw a Cuckoo at MPC. One year it was Yellow-billed and the other a Black-billed. Ive no doubt thats what U have heard.
