Title: White Throated sparrow, Milton
Post by: Napper on April 25, 2023, 02:28:42 PM
I wasn't hearing things yesterday, I heard them all day long and today we had one skulking barely in sight along the back fence (WT sparrow).
Nothing to exciting but we had a Brown headed Cowbird show up at the feeder for a few days last week.

Trail cam if it works will only see Grackles >:(

The WT sparrow(s) that I had in the backyard for quite some time have been a no show for the past couple of weeks. Yet they are still relatively abundant in city parks. I haven't seen the Song sparrow in the yard either, which surprises me because it was acting like it owned the place, so I reckoned on an extended stay. I should stop making assumptions. Juncos are still here though, every day, all day. Grackles and RWBB have all but disappeared. Every time they showed up I could see them, or hear them and so I slid open the door and off they went. Eventually they didn't even bother to return. So, what you really have there is a Grackle CAM.

We have had several white throats in our downtown backyard every day since last week.  At least one is also singing for long periods.
