Now I'm trying to distinguish between Arizona and Shangri-La. Which is more exotic? Always wanted to visit the SW USA but the money to do so was never there, nor will it ever be. Even Lake Erie is too far away.

Your own personal guide, eh? Way to go. Top notch! I like your style. Well, at least you have a style, which includes your sharing the fruits of your expedition with this forum, something few forum members, and I use that term loosely,  have chosen to emulate.

Thanks

expense trip yes... but my 1st trip out of country in 20 yrs and with some any different habitats and locations, you really need a guide in order to see as much as I did.   Alot of the rarer species are so limited to where they go,  it takes alot of traveling around the area to see everything
