Title: Juvenile Redheaded Woodpecker, Tiny Beaches
Post by: Napper on September 18, 2023, 03:59:14 PM
There is a Juvenile Redheaded Woodpecker in the tree behind our house. I haven't seen one here in a long while.
Tried to take a few snaps but it was far too shaded.
Napper :) I might post an image later

Good idea. I might look at it and smile. That last part might involve gas.

The Jays and the squirrels are bombarding us with acorns from this tree, driving us nuts! LOL

Napper, Thanks I don't need anymore gas

You got nice and close, certainly closer than the two juveniles that I saw during the summer, which were high in a dead tree with an bright overcast sky to contend with. I'm glad that RHW are making such a successful comeback. I never expected to ever see one. So, next spring or early summer I hope I get to see a mature bird with a red head.
