At about 8:30 this morning there was a flourish of birds: five Blue jays, two cardinals, three House finches, three chickadees and a Downy and a Hairy woodpecker, ...all...at...the...same...time! After that, bupkis.
Walked to the top of Beare Hill. What did I see? Two crows and bupkis. So really, I saw two bupkis today. Anyone else?

Jays again this morning, a pair of cardinals and a pair of House finches. No woodpeckers this time.
