Title: Red-bellied Woodpecker
Post by: Shortsighted on December 04, 2023, 04:21:01 PM
Most of the day is still quiet in the backyard with an occasional flurry of activity that includes Blue jays, Chickadees, Juncos, House finches, Goldfinches, Hairy and Downy woodpeckers. This morning however a female RBWP showed up and returned several times over a period of about an hour. I haven't had one visit since the spring.

A Red-bellied woodpecker has made a return visit to my feeder. This time it's a male bird. The previous woodpecker that visited in December was a female. Note how it uses it short tail to brace itself on the body of the feeder.
