Title: Avatars?

I'm glad to see all the positive comments so far. Keep 'em coming. The positive ones, I mean...  :roll:

I note that nobody has yet selected an avatar. I had planned on gathering and installing more of them, but if this is something users don't really want, I won't bother adding them.

I didn't even see that option. I think avatars are a nice feature. It lets you identify people easier on the forum. However, it would be preferable if you were allowed to choose your own avatar, instead of choosing from a list if installed images.  It would be more personal, in my opinion. For example, maybe I want to use a photo of myself.

If you scroll down to the bottom of your Profile, you will see the avatar option. I will change the configuration on the board to allow users to upload their own avatars. At the moment, that feature is disabled.

I tried to upload my own Avatar image, but got the following error message.

I think they are a good idea but would prefer to choose one of my own from my own files.

Good to see the positive format responses and I hope this new format will be the chosen one for the future.

 Glad to see that we can now pick our own AVATARS  :D . The Barn Owl was a bird that cost me plenty of cash and sleepless nights looking for it. When we finally found one it was one of highlights of my birding years and a let down  :( as well as no other bird was so high on my list for Ontario.

 The photo is cropped from a photo taken by Frank Pinilla on our trip to SE Arizona  8) last year. The photo was taken through a pipe hole in the side of an abandoned Cotten Gin in Rodeo, New Mexico.
