Hi everyone. Seeing reports and photos online of American White Pelicans at Holiday Beach Conservation Area in Amherstburg - Essex County. Beautiful birds! :D

Yes they are Beautiful, they are just migrating to their breeding areas in Northern Ontario. "Lake of the Woods".
My "Brother Out Law" spotted a group of them near his place outside of T-Bay last year. It is nothing new to that area.
Napper:)

Sorry, I couldn't find a better link. Other links were even worse.

I didn't know that their breeding grounds include Lake Nipigon and T Bay. Great to know!
I once photographed them in Wascana Lake in front of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. The white color is their breeding plumage. They are somewhat brown in California and Mexico.

A few years ago, pre pandemic, saw some on the lake at Mountsberg. Sometimes, I think some have also been reported Hamilton area.
Those will be Brown Pelicans in CA and Mexico, same as Florida etc.

there is also a small breeding colony down by Pelee island, they nest out in lake on a gravel bar, which is only acessible by boat, numbers are slowly growing each year. these ones seen are probably from that spot
