Title: Beaver baby in Col. Sam Smith?
Post by: McNally on July 07, 2008, 01:51:43 PM
While I've seen a single beaver in Col. Sam Smith Park on previous occasions, I was thrilled to finally see two of them together when I was out for a walk last night.  I tried to get some pictures, but without my tripod none of the pics are fantastic.

Still, this morning I was checking what I actually ended up with and realized I also got a picture of a third animal I didn't even notice at the time.  It's on the shore right by the two adults, and looks very much like it could be a young beaver - although it could also be a mink or muskrat.

Here's the large size of the best shot that includes the little guy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27474695@N03/2646090659/sizes/l/

One of the adults stuck close to this area the whole time I was there, which makes me think it's even more likely that it's a lil 'un.

Has anyone seen young beavers this year when they've been at Sam Smith?
