Went for a day trip with a friend and we had a very successful day. Found a Wilson's phalarope at Townsend lagoons and a flock of dowitchers (already flying south?) plus the usual shorebirds and ducks.
Then went to Backus Woods and Wilson tract in Long Point area. There we saw and/or heard
Acadian Flycatcher, pair of Prothonotary Warblers, Cereluan Warblers, Hooded Warblers, Yellow-throated Vireo, both cuckoos and many of the expected warblers and forest birds.
Was a hot but very good birding day.
Here's a photo i took of Black-billed Cuckoo
