While checking that there were no misguided renegade woodpeckers in the hydro field messing about where they don't belong and maybe getting some foolish ideas in their noggins, I came across an Eastern Towhee that was still angry about losing its former Rufous-sided moniker for the more prosaic Eastern classification. I don't blame him. I would be far more excited to capture a photo of the former while wearing my rufous-sided jacket. Still, an unexpected encounter is still a treat, as long as it's not a bear.
