There was a tree at the edge of a farmer's field that was full of red-winged blackbirds, a site that was easy to spot and could easily be heard through a partially open car window. I pulled over. This small tree full of blackbirds would have made a good photo but I would have needed my kit lens to capture the full tree. I didn't bring my kit lens (18mm - 150mm) ... again. I decided to take a few shots of the top of the tree with by telephoto lens and just as I was engaged in that task a dark shadow rapidly passed over my head ... what the ... ah, I see. OK, with the tune of the Association's song Along comes Mary, everyone on cue ... Along comes Ethan in an awkward attempt to catch a blackbird. The whole flock took flight and confused Ethan into bewilderment. He's got a lot to learn.
