While looking for merganser I spotted my FOY grebe and it was relatively close to shore. Unfortunately, it was also directly into the morning sun. I find it quite surprising how often a first sighting ends up being into the sun. In this case the sun even reflected off the water therefore burning out the exposure. I didn't have time to adjust because the grebe dived seconds after this shot was taken.
