Right on schedule, the nighthawks have returned to High Park. About two dozen, along with dozens of swifts, were gathered in a feeding frenzy just before dusk, near the baseball diamonds.

Went to the park with the kids to check out the Nighthawks and play at the castle playground. Saw a Kingfisher, Great Blue Heron and Wood Ducks in the northernmost duck pond, and some Barn Swallows, Swifts and Nighthawks near Grenadier Restaurant; plus all the usuals. Nice place to bring kids for an intro to birding.
