Tonight while walking along the waterfront from Humber River to Sunnyside we saw at least 7 Great Egrets and about the same number of Great Blues. This is most unusual. They were out on the breakwaterl and were somewhat territorial. I will also mention a mallard size duck, white head and neck, orange-brown body, black eyes and bill, black tail feathers in front of the Butterfly Gardens..... likely an escaped bird, ? Centre Island... I can not find it in the books....? comment.

Yes he's a domestic cross, one of 3 or 4 that frequent that area.
