Title: Grosbeak RFi
Post by: Napper on August 22, 2008, 07:00:14 PM
Hey

Initially I thought this was a  female rose breasted grosbeak

after looking at my guide and some images online I am a bit confused by the orange tint to the breast with the streaking.

It kinda looks like a Black headed Grosbeak?  I dunno

6:00 pm just after supper Balm Beach

Thanx in advance Napper

Hi Napper,

It is a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I read the description in my guide and it said Black-headed Grosbeaks have less streaking. This bird is very streaky. Maybe it is a juvenile male Rose-breasted. Its colours aren't so bold at first. Hope this helps.
