Title: Toronto Islands-Olive-sided Flycatchers, Connecticut Warbler
Post by: Anonymous on August 30, 2008, 05:30:06 PM
Good day eh

Today I joined Ian Cannell as he led an OFO outing on the Islands and though we were Sparrow, Shorebird and Waterfowl challenged we did find 68 species including 20 Warbler species and 6 Flycatcher Species.

Among some of the goodies were 3 Olive-sided Flycatchers, Yellow-bellied Flycatchers, an early Long-tailed Duck, N. Parula, Tennessee, Cape May, Blackburnian, Bay-breasted, Blackpoll, Wilson's and Canada Warblers, Ovenbird and a nice male Connecticut Warbler.

5 Swallow species were also seen, minus Bank. We also saw C. Nighthawk,  Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawks, Swainson's Thrush, Philadelphia Vireos and the usual suspects of course.

A beautiful day to be out and about down there. Y'all should try it.
