Hi,
I was out at Port Burwell today and got a look at some small hooded gulls. I think that there were two types (Bonaparte's and Little) based on the difference in beak size, and overall shape/colour. Any thoughts? Am I being too optimistic?

Thanks in advance,

all 3 of the smaller gulls appear to be Bonaparte's Gulls.
See Sibley Guide to Birds - Pages 208 & 209.
Check wing tips and shape of lower photos hood.

Thanks for the response. I was hoping that the smaller bill on the top near bird trumped the wing tip colour. I do see what you mean about the hood on the 2nd shot.
