Thinking the first one is a Sanderling and the second a Semi Palmated Sandpiper. Taken in Brighton today.

Those IDs are correct. Nice photos! The area behind (to the right of) the sanderling looks a little unnatural. Did you edit the photo? Or is it the visual effect of a narrow depth of focus? Just curious.

Very poor photo editing. will correct final version.
