I was at my favorite park, above the bluffs and on the arm of an elderly fellow I know who walks at the park, unknown to him until we suggested he take it off was a black spider about the size of a nickel(conservatively) but maybe as big as a quarter. It had some white spots on its back it seemed, possibly one large central one...I didnt really want to get overly close. This is my best effort not the greatest.

Sorry for the vagueness of my description....maybe I should stick with birds!
