Title: Sandpiper Info request
Post by: Mark A on November 05, 2008, 08:09:12 AM
Hello, I've been looking for a copy of a paper originally printed in British Birds and later in American Birding Magazine on sandpipers as my copy has disappeared long ago.

 The paper was called

Jonsson, L, and Grant, P. J. 1984. Identification of stints and peeps. Brit. Birds 77: 293-315;
and
Veit, R. R., and Jonsson, L. 1987. Field identification of smaller sandpipers within the genus Calidris. Amer. Birds 41: 212-236.

If anyone out there has a copy they might be willing to scan and e-mail or photo copy and mail I'd be very thankful (I'll pay any expenses). Alternately if someone out there knows where it may appear on the web or if anyone knows if either magazine can be found at a library here in the city that too would be great.

Thanks in advance.

The TOC (http://www.torontobirding.ca/) is having a book auction in January.  You might find something like that there, but I believe you need an invitation if you're not already a member.

Hi Brian, well I used to be a few years ago. Thanks for the idea.

At any rate, a contact in England has offered up a pdf file on the paper. hoefully it works out.

Thx

Norm, thanks for the info and sorry it took a while to reply. My computer was down all afternoon.
