Title: Invasion of the Robins

Over the last few days, I have been invaded by over a dozen robins. It has been a pleasure to have them attacking all the orange berries on my (unknown) shrub. (Firethorn?) They gorge themselves, rest for a while to let others have a go, and then are back at it. The shrub has produced a huge crop of berries...

Afterwards, they fly around to the fountain to wash the berries down !

Great to see so many robins in one place at one time.

Hah ! This gives me some crediblity...throughtout the late fall I could hear robins in my cedar bush in the evenings...couldn't see them because it was dark...so I was wondering if I was going crazy...with the snow, they have disappeared.

Yesterday, I participated in my first CBC with the SPNC.  It was awesome!

To make a long story short, one of the parks our group visited in Oakville had 200+ Robins!!!!!  They were everywhere - on the ground, flying in front of us, flying behind us, just about flying right in our faces!   :lol:   Quite thrilling!  I was really amazed to see so many in one location.

I think we should adopt Turdus migratorius (I'm sorry....I'm easily amused...) as our weather prognosticator...replacing that damn rodent.
