Hey!!
A few minutes ago while driving home from the corner store, a Blue Heron appeared up and over the road near a tributary of 16 mile creek . This the first I've seen this winter here in Milton.. The creek must be open and flowing. It is always interesting to spot one of these guys during Winter..

On another note, Junko's disappeared when the snow melted, they were back this morning, with the tree sparrow.
Yesterday on three occasions we were visited by two juvenile Coopers and one Sharp shinned "I think". It was a beautiful adult bird bright rufous breast . Slate black/gray back.. I was on the deck and it landed on the fence fifteen feet from me..
Happy New Year

In addition to all the usual suspects.......this has definitely been the year of the Tree Sparrow for me.........a dozen or so have set up shop here.

Did he have just the one leg or was it simply tucked in?
