Title: Finally.
Post by: backyard birdin on January 05, 2009, 05:32:54 PM
Had my first common redpolls and pine siskins today.  Quite a few house finches around as well. Went to my turkey spot and saw about 20 in the field.  When i got home had a coopers hawk in the tree.

You stole my thunder...lol...I was going to report today that I saw my first pair of redpolls (ever) and on the same day, I had a sharp shinned hawk swoop through my feeders...what amazed me is that everyone flew into the cedar bush that surrounds my feeders and did not return for over a half hour...complete silence for a half hour...it was eerie...

And on Sunday, for the first time ever, I saw a Coopers fly across my place...I have never seen any raptor other than tv's fly across.
