I live down at York Quay-Central Waterfront. Since around New Years there have been 5 swans each bearing 2 big yellow tags with numbers. They are hanging out with the mute Swans. I first thought they might be Tundra--but they are the same size as the Mute and I cannot see on any of them, a spot near the top of the bill. So I am wondering if, by any chance, they could be trumpters.
Question: am I supposed to report birds with tags? Where does one report them?
Thanks. Laura

Hi Laura.
Large yellow tags with black letters/numbers ... Yes, they are Trumpeter Swans.
If you'd like to, please report them to the following. Only takes a minute or two to fill out!

If you have the letters/numbers and would like to know the history of some or all of those swans, I will contact Mr. Harry Lumsden and find out for you! Always an interesting and informative conversation!

Thanks a lot Jo-Anne. I am trying to find where I wrote down the numbers. If I find them, I will definitely report. I don't think I want to bother Mr. Lumsden right now. Thanks anyway. I really appreciate this.
