Title: Geese at York Quay Toronto
Post by: Laura Cooper on January 17, 2009, 04:35:35 PM
Since the beginning of the year there have been 5 Trumpeter Swans at York Quay at the foot of University Ave in Toronto.  Three of them are tagged.  Today just one is here.

Today there are 2 geese with them and the mutes and the mallards.  Are these domestic geese?  I have never seen them here before.  A picture is at:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/laura-in-toronto/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/laura-in-toronto/)

Thank you.

I was told if you spot a goose that closely resembles a snow/white morph including ross's - just look at the primaries if not black then it's most likely domestic such as your pic illustrates...

Did the geese want a change of environment from High Park?
