Title: Northern Shrike
Post by: K B Warburton on January 18, 2009, 07:03:39 PM
While walking along the Culham Trail in Mississauga we spotted a Northern Shrike perched on top of bare tree Immediately south of the Credit Valley Conservation Building.  An hour later on the return leg of our hike, the Shrike was still present although in a different tree. We were unable to see enough of  the legs to determine if it was banded.

Credit Valley Conservation 1255 Old Derry Road Mississauga,

The Culham Trail runs just south the visitors parking lot.

Great sighting! and not very far from where I live.

:(  Unfortunately today I'm sick as a dog and feeling like "poop" rolled over.  Otherwise, would have ventured over to the Meadowvale Conservation Area to see if the Northern Shrike is still there!
