Title: Crossbills in Etobicoke...
Post by: bernie2112 on January 21, 2009, 11:27:11 PM
Greetings!
I was lucky to find a handful of cooperative crossbills eating in a nearby tree in the Humber College Arboretum. Also in attendance were some red breasted nuthatches, cardinals, juncos, and a white throated sparrow. It is a nice spot for birds or a walk.

The Arboretum is located behind Humber College 205 Humber College Blvd. You can get there from highway 427 and Finch, head east, and turn right at Humber College Blvd. Enter through the second entrance and go to the parking kiosk and get a pass. Parking is free but very limited. http://www.humberarboretum.on.ca/inform.htm (http://www.humberarboretum.on.ca/inform.htm)

Cheers,

Bernie

Thanks Bernie, your timing is incredible! My son is flying to Costa Rica on Monday afternoon and since I will be taking him to the airport I was looking for a birding spot close by. Weather permitting I will certainly check it out.
