Title: Lake Aquitaine and a White-winged Crossbill
Post by: Bird Brain on January 25, 2009, 03:46:26 PM
Went for a walk around Lake Aquitaine earlier today.

1.  Cold outside!    Nothing like -20c windchill to clear one's head and wake you up!

2.  Saw one male White-winged Crossbill ... so, I've now seen 2 male Crossbills over 3 days here in Mississauga.

Immediately after sighting today's Crossbill, saw a male Red-breasted Nuthatch then 6 male Juncos, 6 Mourning Doves and 2 Cardinals (1m,1f).  Lots of Squirrels around - it's fun to hand feed them!   :D

Today (Monday) at Lake Aquitaine:

Besides freezing my ....... (tail feathers) off!

A male Cardinal was singing up a storm!

Also saw lots of Juncos and a Mockingbird.
