Thanks all. There is a small amout of water that is open where the amherst island ferry leaves the dock on the kingston side and this is where I found the MGE. I guess it didn't feel like swimming to amherst island where the only other small open water spot is so it just stayed around. They are hard to get close so this was a nice chance to take different shots.
