Title: Arctic terns at Bronte
Post by: atw on June 26, 2006, 09:13:29 AM
Hello,
On a walk yesterday out on the breakwater at Bronte harbour, my husband and I saw 3 arctic terns.  Their bills were bright red orange with no sign of any black on them so we are pretty confident they are arctic terns.  We had seen them previously last year in Glacier Bay, Alaska.  My Peterson guide says they are accidentals to the Great Lakes.  I would be interested in knowing if this quite an uncommon sighting.

Arctic tern is very unlikely.  Consider Caspian tern.
