Walked the Spit on Saturday early a.m. Wasn't too bad temperature-wise. Spotted 3 GHO's, a Snowy sitting on the ice (another birder shared that he had seen a second greyer one as well), White Winged Crossbills, 1 Flicker, Chickadees, Tree Sparrows, 1 Harrier and 1 Coopers.
But the highlight was seeing an adult Bald Eagle, down towards the trees by the lighthouse. It perched for a while, then flew, and perched again, then eventually flew off over the lake.
Also saw 2 coyotes on the ice.
An off to Amherst Island next weekend. Did anyone make it there this weekend and have any updates?
Thanks.
