Title: horned grebe in scarborough
Post by: mc on February 02, 2009, 08:01:46 AM
saturday, while driving down blakemanor blvd in scarborough (near markham and eglinton) we spotted a bird sitting in the middle of the road......NOT MOVING.  we stopped the car, and discovered that it was a horned grebe -- http://outdoorontario.net/Gallery/horne ... carborough (http://outdoorontario.net/Gallery/horned-grebe-in-scarborough) -- imagine our surprise.  it did not appear to be injured, however, if we had left it there it would surely have been run over.  we wrapped the little grebe in a towel and took it down to the bluffs at the bottom of brimley. we placed it on the ground and after a couple of minutes it jumped into the water and started preening.
