This morning in the Leslie Spit, Great Horned Owl, thanks to the birders that were kind enough to point out the location.

Very nice shot, looks like you let him sleep! We 'shot' him last Monday. Did anyone report seeing the snowy owl? When and where did you see the kestral. We (my son and I) saw him as well but he was too high to get a really good shot. What gear btw?

Thanks I took quite a few but the branches obscured the detail, I did not encounter anyone that had news of a Snowy Owl but I was rather thrilled to see this owl.
I say the Kestrel time was approx 10:45 am then on my way back out of the Spit I saw another or the same Kestrel that would have been about 2:15pm, I find that if you walk on the path just beside the road closer to the shore line all you have to do is look to the top of the trees and you will always find our little friend.
As for the gear I am shooting with an Olympus E3 and Zuiko 70-300mm telephoto, unfortunetely on a day like today the light is not the best for this lens otherwise for the money it is a great all around lens.

Good evening all,
I was wondering if the Spit is only accessible on Weekends as I hear, or if you can make your way to the park on a week day.
Thanks in advance for the info anyone provides me :D

Saw the same GHO a couple of weeks ago ( my first in many years of looking ) along with a Snowy on the point. ( surprisingly have seen many snowies and 1 Great Grey )
They come in bunches - just last week saw my second GHO just otside of Smith Falls - it was beatifully silhotted against an extremely clear bluey/grey sky.
