Title: My First Virginia Opossum
Post by: KP on February 21, 2009, 10:15:58 PM
During the Toronto Maple Leafs versus the Vacouver Canucks tonight, I just glimpsed outside the window and saw a very long tail moving.  The animal appeared to be moving fast.  I thought it might have been a cat but the tail was a little different.  I went outside quickly and saw the animal walking with the back towards me.  I walked towards the animal and saw the body was a dark colour.  The animal turned around, looked at me, and had a white face.  I realized the animal was a Virginia Opossum.  I saw the footprints and the tail prints in the snow.  I was very excited.

Where abouts was this sighting?

(Nice ending to the game, even for a Leaf fan.)

Hi David.  I live in South Etobicoke below Lakeshore Blvd. right by Marie Curtis Park.  I read Virginia Opossums are common in South Etobicoke.
