Title: siting report
Post by: jonah on February 22, 2009, 04:35:22 PM
Hello,
Today, Sunday, at 1 pm, I saw a red-shouldered hawk land and perch on the top of our mulberry tree, as he does often, looking for prey. He stayed for about 1 minute and flew away. About 1/2 hour later, a peregrine falcon landed at the same spot atop the tree and visited for about 2-3 minutes. And me without a camera ready!
I confirmed these i.d.s' with the website. Peregrine Foundation. I am quite excited.
Jonah.

Very nice birds.  I've yet to see either of those species.  Also lucky for you to see them during the short periods of time they dropped by! Talk about being at the right place at the right time :)
