I took up residence at the outside of the main lagoons and canals on some rocks and just waited for the birds to start going by as they departed their daytime haunts.  I was hoping for some in flight grebe photos too but they didn't leave...odd?  I don't know...I'll have to watch what they're up to when they're further inshore.
