Title: Colonel Sam early this morning
Post by: Lloyd on March 15, 2009, 03:37:16 PM
A beautiful sunrise this morning on a calm, mirror-like lake allowed me the opportunity to spot several Red-breasted Mergansers, Buffleheads, Goldeneyes and the like, enjoying the start of the day as I was. Many Redwings are back and a lone Tundra Swan flew overhead. Alas, the King Eider eluded me but scores of Long-tailed ducks amused me with their incessant demand for 'owl omelet'.
